Rapolu Bhaskar’s life is the story of an ordinary man who rose extraordinarily. Born into a simple farming family in a rural setting, he understood the harsh realities of life at a very young age. His student days were filled with struggles—financial difficulties, family responsibilities, and the lack of opportunities common to rural areas. Yet, while facing all these challenges, he chose education as his weapon and moved forward with determination. His strong belief that education alone could uplift not only himself but also many others like him eventually led him towards politics and the legal profession.

Rapolu Bhaskar was born as the youngest child to Rapolu Ramulu and Ramalakshmamma from Molkapetnam village in Vemulapally mandal of Nalgonda district. He has two elder brothers and two sisters. When Bhaskar was just three years old, his father Ramulu passed away, leaving the family shattered. His mother, Ramalakshmamma, worked as a daily wage laborer to support and raise her children. Witnessing his mother’s hardships, Bhaskar firmly decided that education was the only path to a better life.

He completed his education up to the fifth standard in his native village. As there were no facilities for higher education in Molkapetnam, family members advised him to discontinue his studies. However, driven by his passion for learning, Bhaskar opposed the decision and continued his schooling at the Government High School in Vemulapally mandal headquarters. To do so, he walked nearly 16 kilometers every day to and from school. This physical strain affected his health, following which he joined the BC Hostel in Vemulapally and continued his education. During this time, he became an active member of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI).

Seeing people’s problems as his own, Rapolu Bhaskar entered politics at a young age. While pursuing his MA at Osmania University, with encouragement from CPM leader Raghava Reddy, he contested and won as the Molkapetnam MPTC and later became the MPP of Vemulapally mandal. He traveled extensively across 20 gram panchayats and 42 villages, witnessing people’s hardships firsthand. Roads for villages without connectivity, electricity for homes in darkness, basic infrastructure in schools, education, healthcare, power supply, roads, and housing for the poor—these became his core agenda. He demonstrated through action that political leadership is about serving people, not merely holding positions.

From 1995 to 2000, while serving as MPP, Bhaskar never abandoned his education. Balancing public service, responsibilities, and studies simultaneously, he completed both his MA and his Law degree—an example of remarkable discipline and commitment. After completing his MPP tenure, he contested as a ZPTC member and narrowly lost by a small margin. However, the defeat did not break his confidence. He treated it as a lesson and stood even stronger with the people.

After completing his Law degree, until 2005, he actively fought for public issues by filing cases in courts, seeking justice for the common people. He embodied both a leader and a pleader. His political experience among the masses and his legal expertise combined to make him a ray of hope for the underprivileged. At a time when the poor could not even afford to approach courts, Bhaskar stood by them and fought on their behalf. In 2006, he was once again elected as an MPP and continued his public service.

While practicing law from Miryalguda, he consistently pursued legal battles related to local issues. Managing the dual roles of a public representative and a lawyer, he maintained balance without compromise. Notably, during his tenure as a public representative, he did not take even a single rupee as salary, sustaining himself solely on his earnings as a lawyer—clear testimony to his integrity and service-oriented mindset.

As a lawyer, he practiced across all courts in the erstwhile Nalgonda district and, in 2014, began practicing at the Telangana High Court. Since then, he has been handling civil and criminal cases, always standing on the side of justice. He naturally chose to support those without power rather than the powerful. This is why he is widely respected not just as a lawyer, but as a “people’s advocate.”

Rapolu Bhaskar often says that he chose the legal profession with the belief that a lawyer is the only person who can provide solutions to people of all castes, religions, and backgrounds for all kinds of problems. For him, law is not merely a profession—it is a responsibility and a duty.

Throughout this journey, his family has stood firmly by his side. His son Abhinav and daughter Srinidhi have also taken up the legal profession, continuing his legacy. Bhaskar emotionally acknowledges that the support of his mother and his wife Ramadevi has been his greatest strength in reaching where he is today.

Rapolu Bhaskar’s story is not just the story of one individual—it is the story of a life lived for the people.
Even as positions change and stature grows, his path has always remained aligned with the people.
